Thanks to Mr. Steve, I've gotten from totally confusabobbled to just confused. Maybe there are some simple answers for my questions....
First, I've got a Mac, with a "Magic Mouse" Several times now while editing, the image seemed to go crazy, doing wild things. It turns out that these were due to my finger moving around on the top of the mouse. Can I turn this function off?
Next, I've been looking for some simple "crop" tools, where I can move the edges in and out until I like my image. It doesn't seem to work that way. The program does have "crop", but I haven't yet figure out how I'm supposed to use it. I would prefer it to work like Adobe does it.
I've been editing images, and they get me "close", but not finished. I've now got 10 images I want to send to my Nik Collection tools. I also want to re-size them to 800 pixels wide. I'll be searching for that by tomorrow.
I wish there was an "export to program" function, where I could send an image to Nik, or maybe even Photoshop, then have the finished image return to Darktable.
I like having the "favorites" ability, where I am slowly gathering my most useful editing tools.
After two days of use, one of which was just figuring out how to get my images into the program, it's too soon to say how much I do or don't like the app. It's not like it does amazing things I could never do before (as with Nik Collection), but how I can learn to do everything Lightroom does, and more, without having to pay a rental fee to Adobe. It's good that I'm stubborn - otherwise I would have given up on this software yesterday. It's also good that I found Mr. Steve, as I was so, so lost.
Oh, one final request. I wish there was a RESET button, that would un-do everything I had done, all libraries, all files, and give me a clean, fresh start.
