Hello All,
I have two identical machines, Ubuntu desktop 22.04, with the latest DT.
The second one is essentially a backup of the first one, in a different town.
Now, I did a lot of work editing hundreds of DNG in a folder, and wanted to copy over the edits also, so I copied the xlts.
However, the edits are not there, for example the BW conversion is lost.
Am I missing something?

" xlts" did you xmp ? How are you up dating the second machine, just coping over the xmp files or is this a two way thing? If the darktable installations are identical including photo file structure you could update the new data (xmp files and new pictures with xmp) and copy the darktable database to the second computer. Be sure to backup the existing db for insurance. The second option would be to set the options to "look for updated xmp files on startup". As understand this it will check every xmp in database and may be slow depending on amount of photos.

My db file resides in /home/username/.config/darktable

Of course, I meant xmp.
Yes, I only copied DNGs and XMPs, not the database...
Will try "look for updated xmp" this evening..

Yes, just be aware that this is crazy slow when you startup darktable, especially if that goes through a network.
