the quote: darktable is not a free Adobe® Lightroom® replacement.
They mean that DT is not a replacement for LR, if you thought about saving money by ditching your LR CC subscription.
I argue that Darktable IS indeed a replacement to Lightroom, with minor adjustments needed. It does everything the same or way better.
- To achieve the simplicity of LR, create your own custom quick access panel to mimic LR's. I did and now I barely have to navigate in the modules ever again.
- DT offer the same workflow: lighttable to navigate and darkroom to edit
- DT offer all of the edit options LR has and more
- DT does not organize your libraries but you can achieve the same folder structure partially, manually. Scripts will come in play and I am developing some.
I ditched LR and happily replaced it with DT.
This is a discussion and your point of view may differ. Mine differ from the developers, apparently. What do you think?
