I'm trying to create a printer profile using argyll and a colormunki. I have generated the color patches as tiff files and now I need to print them so the colormunki can read them to create the icc profile. However, I'm not sure how I should print them.
Should I print the in Darktable or with something like Gwenview? When I compare the tiffs between Darktable and Gwenview they are very slightly different. Darktable gives the sheet a bit more saturation and contrast. They are almost identical, though. You really have to look closely to see the difference.
I'm using the cups driver for my SC-P800 so I don't expect there to be any color management in the driver, but I'm not sure what, if any, changes applied in Darktable. Darktable 3.0 has a couple of always on modules, but clicking between the original and the top of the stack doesn't seem to alter the image at all.
So the question is do I print the tiff through Darktable, or through a viewer that makes no alterations during the print process?
